For Aidan A Healthy Life Means Making Healthy Choices

The battle of the bulge is according to health experts becoming more and more disconcerting and is unfortunately a sign of the times.  We live in an age of fast food, over consumption and far too little exercise too compensate.  We only have to look at the recent newspaper reports to realize the gravity of this growing epidemic on the future of health care.  But Aidan has decided to take the bull by the horns and make his health a top priority.  Dedicated to loosing weight, Aidan has become an inspiration for others by recently joining Fit City, a Newmarket fitness club.  Going with Jennifer, a KPAS staff member, Aidan displays his enthusiasm for fitness working out Monday to Friday for 45 minutes per day.  In addition to using the bike, he makes his workouts interesting by speed walking on the treadmill on an inclined position.  Furthermore, he plans on increasing his pace and eventually run.

While less frequent and vigorous than attending a gym, Aidan’s paper route also helps him stay fit.  In addition to assembling dozens and dozens of Era Banner newspapers, Aidan spends an hour independently delivering papers door to door twice each week.  This is something that he has been doing since he first moved to Newmarket from Maple in 1997.

Another weight loss strategy that Aidan is committed to is making healthier meal choices.  Limiting himself to one portion, Aidan concentrates on eating low-fat, low-carbohydrate meals, and often chooses things such as fruit or vegetables for his snacks.   Already having lost seven pounds since he first joined the fitness club in late February, Aidan’s goal is to lose another 20-25 pounds and with his determination will no doubt get there sooner than we think.
