May 2007 Adam is a twelve year old student in Grade 7 with Asperger's Syndrome and he truly is "interesting and funny". When I read Adam's poem last night I found it very expressive and insightful, and thought immediately of the KPAS newsletter. I think he would be thrilled to see his poem in print (as would I!) Shirley Clitheroe "I Am" Poem I am interesting and funny, I wonder if T.V. will ever stop being cool, I hear noises, I see the world, I want LEGO Star Wars II, I am interesting and funny.
I pretend one of my friends didn't move away, I feel empowered, I touch air, I worry about my friends, I cry over slavery, I am interesting and funny.
I understand the Titanic, I say words, I dream about a world without homework, I try to not fail grades, I hope that I will at one time know everything, I am interesting and funny. By Adam Wilson |
