Last holiday, Karina Podor challenged herself to raise funds for Kerry’s Place Autism Services in celebration of her son Michael, who is diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.

She agreed to dye her hair teal blue/green in January 2016 if she accomplished her goal!

My inspiration came from a firm belief that understanding and acceptance of persons with Autism Spectrum Disorder comes through education. Dying my hair teal blue/green was a creative way of starting a conversation about ASD and spreading awareness about Kerry’s Place.

This challenge was an opportunity to celebrate my beautiful child and “pass it along” by donating the very huggable Kerry Bears to my office holiday toy drive. It was a very positive experience and the response was amazing – $1,600!

The hairdressing services were generously donated by her talented hairdresser, Claudia Livingstone, CL Designs located at Infringe, 1050 Simcoe Street North, Oshawa, ON (905) 576-3700.

Congratulations again Karina on your amazing accomplishment!

For the last 4 years, the arrival of Kerry Bears has been an exciting time at Kerry’s Place! They are a fun way for everyone to contribute to spreading Autism Awareness and to supporting those with ASD in our Kerry’s Place Community.
