Summer Camp 2017 began on July 10th with 7 weeks of fun filled activities for campers in both the Wellington and Peel Regions.
Our Wellington camp program offers spaces to 12 campers each week over the course of 4 weeks. The camp runs out of our Guelph Resource Centre for 2 weeks in July and 2 weeks in August with the campers participating in a variety of meaningful activities. Day trips for 2017 included campers attending the African Lion Safari and Bingemans Fun Works/Splash Park. In August they will visit Emerald Lake and take another trip to Bingemans Fun Works as it is a camper favourite.
Peel Region camp offer 2 weeks with 30 spaces for each week to campers living in Brampton and Mississauga. This year the campers in Brampton attended the Toronto Blue Jays camp day in which they saw the Jays win in the 10th inning due to a grand slam homerun. Mississauga campers will be going to Hamilton’s Wet and Wild Splash Park on August 17th.
Camp Everton welcomed 30 campers from both the Peel and Wellington Communities who arrived on July 31st for a week of overnight camp. The talent show is a highlight of the week in which the Wisemen Motorcycle Riding Club comes to visit the campers. Donations received by the Wisemen help our camps to cover the costs of the meaningful day trips.
By the end of August our camps will have welcomed 138 campers to participate in these meaningful camp activities.
