THANK YOU!

Last night was the 19th annual Kerry’s Place Autism Services Evening for Autism and we had a blast at Aw Shucks in Aurora!

Our guest host for the evening was Global News reporter, Jamie Mauracher. Jamie dove right in and quickly became a member of the Kerry’s Place family as we all spent time chatting and working throughout the night. We are so grateful to Jamie for her support of this special event.

Throughout the evening we enjoyed the musical stylings of Juno nominated artist Glenn Marais and band. They were a real hit!

As a special treat, supported individuals Conner and David shared about how Kerry’s Place has positively impacted them, and helped them to lead richer, fuller lives every day.  Their words were impactful, and brought home the message that Kerry’s Place makes a difference in the lives of others, and that because of our generous donors, they’ve been able to participate in meaningful experiences that gave them hope.  We are so grateful that they took the time to prepare and deliver their speeches last night.

We were also incredibly grateful to hear from MP Mike Lake. Mike is an advocate for autism, has spoken at countless events and has made it his mission to spread autism awareness, inclusivity and acceptance. He spoke to us about his teenage son, Jaden. Jaden has autism and while he is non-verbal, he communicates in his own unique way and is quite capable of working, learning and contributing to his community.  It was a pleasure to hear from Mike and to hear about how he, as a parent, has become such a strong advocate for his child.

The evening was capped off with raffle ticket draws and the closing of a successful silent auction.

None of this would have been possible without the support of gracious donors and willing volunteers. The combination of generous donors and energetic volunteers made the evening a real success, so for this, we say a big thank you!

WE’RE ALREADY LOOKING FORWARD TO THE 20TH ANNUAL EVENING FOR AUTISM AND WE CAN’T WAIT TO SEE YOU THERE!
