This Foundational Family Service workshop takes a strength-based approach to helping persons with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) understand their diagnosis. Explaining and answering questions related to a diagnosis may be a lifelong discussion and difficult to navigate.
Autism Spectrum Disorder: Beyond the Diagnosis will provide parents and caregivers with strategies and tools to support these discussions and offer a person-centered perspective about the diagnosis. This workshop incorporates the research of Dr. Peter Vermeulen, related to helping persons with ASD understand themselves and their respective diagnosis. Dr. Peter Vermeulen is an author, lecture and consultant in the field of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
This workshop is intended for parents and caregivers, who have children and youth registered with the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) as a Foundational Family Service.
