EmploymentWorks offers training for adults with autism who want to practice and develop the essential skills necessary to get and keep a job. At the same time, it offers volunteers (mentors) an opportunity to share their employment journeys, and employers direct experience integrating individuals with disabilities into their workplaces.
This program involves structured learning sessions as well as experiential learning at various work sites. Participants are responsible for getting to and from the various work sites. This program is open to 8 participants.
*Please note that by registering you are expressing interest in this program. Further eligibility assessment and screening will take place to confirm enrollment.
Funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Opportunities Fund for Persons with Disabilities.
Note: Due to COVID-19 some alterations have been made for the Fall 2020 program. EmploymentWorks will be offering the manualized class portion virtually for 1 day a week across 12 weeks. Once the situation is resolved and it is safe to go back into the community, the experiential job sampling portion of the program will be scheduled for 1 day a week across 12 weeks.
