Exploring the Pathways Beyond the Teen Years – Foundational Family Service

This 2 ½-hour workshop educates parents and caregivers about transition planning to adulthood for their child with Autism. Discussion topics include: building independent-living skills, exploring future pathways and navigating adult services in Ontario.
As a result of participating in this workshop, participants will be able to:
- describe major transitions that take place from adolescence into young adulthood
- define goal planning and using a SMART goal (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-Bound approach)
- list the steps in making a transition plan

Cost: there is no cost to participate
Exploring the Pathways Beyond the Teen Years will be delivered virtually via Zoom. The Zoom link will be e-mailed by Kerry’s Place staff two business days prior to the day of the scheduled event. To participate, the following is required:
- mobile device, tablet or computer
- internet connection
- speakers and a microphone
- webcam
Please note: Registration does not guarantee a space in this webinar. To be eligible, completion of a Kerry’s Place Autism Services intake meeting is required, and additional documentation may be required to attend.
Cancellation Policy:
Cancelled by Kerry’s Place: Kerry’s Place may cancel a program due to low enrollment or unforeseen circumstances. If this occurs, and the activity cannot be rescheduled, a full refund will be issued with no administrative fee charged.
Cancelled by Supported Person/Family: Cancellation must be received at least 7 days before the start of the workshop/training. A full refund, minus a $25.00 administrative fee, will be applied when 7 days’ notice is provided. If 7 days’ notice is not provided, a full refund will only be issued if the vacancy can be filled. Refunds will not be issued for a missed day during a training session.
Late/No shows: When the attendee is late or does not attend the scheduled appointments, the time missed will not be returned and a refund will not be provided.
