Introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorder – Guelph

This workshop will introduce possible strengths, needs, learning styles, and profiles of persons with Autism Spectrum Disorder within a biopsychosocial framework.
The diagnostic features of Autism Spectrum Disorder will be reviewed at length, describing the changes made to the most recent version of the Diagnostic Statistical Manual.
As a result of participating in this workshop, participants will be able to:
- describe characteristics of Autism Spectrum Disorder
- describe the changing rate of prevalence of ASD
- identify possible strengths related to the diagnosis
