In this three-part learning series, parents/caregivers and professionals supporting persons with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) will leave with a foundational understanding about the science of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) or “why we do what we do”. Participants will build skills around describing behaviour, understanding why it happens and promoting behaviour change.
Participants will become familiar with the science of ABA, what behaviour is and isn’t, how to describe behaviour and data collection in module 1. In module 2, participants will gain further insight into why behaviour happens and how professionals in the field develop strategies to promote behaviour change. In module 3, participants will have an opportunity to examine a case study and apply learned strategies to the real world while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team.
