Do you want to learn more about how to support your children through the transition to school for the first time? As we progress through the current global pandemic, families are faced with unpredictable changes, making transitional supports increasingly important to assist with academic success. In this Foundational Family Service, caregivers will leave with knowledge about why persons with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) may experience challenges around transitions; ideas or strategies to use with their child or youth; supports for following COVID-19 safety measures; and how to navigate school-related community resources. This Foundational Family Service is intended for children and youth, aged 0-17, who are registered in the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) and are, or will be, experiencing a transition to school for the first time. This Foundational Family Service workshop is led by an Autism Consultant or a Behaviour Therapist.
The Supporting Transitions: First Time at School workshop will be delivered live via Zoom, and the following is required to participate:

Foundational Family Services are available to persons under the age of 18, and their families, registered with the Ontario Autism Program.
