Do you enjoy playing online video games? Are you interested in learning about how they are created? Well then, this group is for you! Our 12-week curriculum will introduce participants to the elements of coding and how these elements work together to create video games. This group will use block-based, drag-and-drop coding in programs such as Scratch and Code.org. This group requires basic computer skills and a motivation to want to learn about computer programming.
Participant Age: 16-18 years
Cost: no associated fees
Location: will be delivered live via Zoom | Access to a computer, a reliable internet connection, speakers, microphone, and a webcam are required to participate.
Start Date: Wednesday, February 3, 2021
End Date: Wednesday, April 21, 2021
Time: 4:30pm – 6:30pm
Registration: Registration opens on Friday, January 15, 2021 and will close on Wednesday, January 27, 2021
This is a group opportunity for Toronto youth. If you live outside of the City of Toronto, and are interested in this opportunity, please email Vanessa Yeo at firstname.lastname@example.org. If spaces are available you will be contacted for registration. A successful pre-screen must be completed prior to registration. An intake meeting and telepractice consent must be completed prior to receiving a Zoom to join the group.
Cancelled by Kerry’s Place: Kerry’s Place may cancel a program due to low enrollment or unforeseen circumstances. If this occurs, and the activity cannot be rescheduled, participants will be notified as quickly as possible and attempts, within reason, will be made to help the attendee enroll in a new session.
