Visuals – Essential Supports – Barrie
March 5 @ 9:30am - 12:30pm
For people with Autism Spectrum Disorder, visual supports are not only beneficial, but some are essential. Benefits included; increasing comprehension, predictability, redirecting attention, acting as reminders, providing more time to process, reassurance of what is happening in their day, decreasing anxiety and most importantly, ensuring accurate communication.
This session will explain how to use these most valuable supports in everyday life. A working session ?Visuals Make and Take? will follow, where participants will be able to obtain some of the materials and begin to develop a support to implement with their child.
