Kerry’s Place is committed to providing a high degree of transparency and accountability in our financial practices. Our strong fiscal position enabled us to meet our strategic objectives and make investments to build a sustainable future. During the past fiscal year (ending March 31, 2021), Kerry’s Place:
- Received an unqualified Audited Financial statement from our external auditors (KPMG);
- Increased provincial grants received by 7% over the previous year, which included special grants from the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services for COVID-19 including temporary pandemic pay and wage enhancements, as well as reimbursement of COVID-19 residential expenses (PPE, supplies, etc.).
- Had a reduction in Fee for Service revenue by 28% over the previous year, due to COVID-19 restrictions on our Community programs.
Information Technology Update
In the fall of 2020, Kerry’s Place experienced a cyber-security threat against its information technology (IT) infrastructure. With strong detection processes in place, along with trained on-site IT staff and our external IT partners, our digital infrastructure and communication systems were restored with minimal disruption. Lessons learned have been documented to assess, improve upon, and to continue to foster a culture of continuous learning. Kerry’s Place has made additional investments to enhance cyber resilience and mitigate any associated risks.
