Once again Kerry’s Place was invited to participate in CTN’s  Inclusive Halloween at the Hub.  This amazing event allows kids of all ages to trick or treat with family and friends in a safe, sensitive and accessible environment.  On Friday October 27th, 10 staff from Community and ABA offered their time and support to decorate and give out edible and non edible treats – staff had a blast!

Kerry’s Place received the following email from CTN summarizing the success of it all.

“Just wanted  to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who volunteered/ participated at our annual inclusive Halloween event on Friday. I can confidently say that this was our biggest success thus far with a total of 148 families attending (218 adults, 274 kids for a total of 492 people! WOW). We had a total of 21 youth volunteers with nine of them being CTN clients.

Agencies that volunteered/participated includes:

  • Richmond Hill Mobility Accessibility Foundation
  • Kinark
  • Kerry’s Place
  • York Region EIS
  • York Region Fire Department

This of course could not happen without the help of our fantastic donors:

  • 4imprint Canada
  • Mars Canada
  • Crayola
  • Pizzaville (who sponsored pizza for all of our volunteers & staff)
  • Richmond Hill Costco
  • Scholastic
  • Oak Ridges Shoppers Drug Mart

It was such a fantastic night! Thank you thank  thank you everyone. It really takes a village and I am so proud to be able to work with each and every one of you to put this event together. Seeing all the smiles and hearing comments from parents made all of the hard work worthwhile.
