Ontario is Working Towards a Needs-Based and Sustainable Autism Program
Advisory Panel to provide recommendations on design of new program
TORONTO — Ontario is continuing to listen to families of children with autism and the Autism Advisory Panel. Based on their feedback, the province is expanding the scope of the autism expert panel to provide advice on what a new needs-based and sustainable autism program would look like. To facilitate that work, Ontario is extending existing behaviour plans and continuing to bring children off the waitlist to ensure continuity of service for families.
ONTARIO AUTISM CONSULTATIONS – TELEPHONE TOWN HALL
Ontario’s government is engaging in a month-long series of public consultations on how children and youth with autism, including those with complex needs, can be better supported. This is the largest consultation on autism in the history of the province.
The advice collected through the consultations will be invaluable in helping assess how we can reduce barriers for children with autism, while also looking specifically at enhancements to the Ontario Autism Program.
Telephone Town Hall
You can participate in one of our telephone town halls. These phone-based public forums will be hosted by a professional, non-partisan moderator and run for one hour. They will be broken up into segments where the key themes of the consultation will be a focus of discussion.
