Are you interested in taking part in a research project looking at brain stimulation and Aggression associated with intellectual or developmental disabilities?

Researchers from Queen’s University are conducting a clinical trial investigating the effects of transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) on aggressive behaviours tied to intellectual or developmental disabilities.

We are looking for participants, aged between 18 and 65 years, who:

  • have a diagnosis of intellectual disabilities and/or developmental delay
  • have a recent history of aggressive behaviours (e.g., yelling, hitting, damaging property)
  • have no history of major neurological conditions such as epilepsy or head injury
  • have no metal implants or pacemakers in their body.

Participation in the study involves:

  • Completing a questionnaire about the ways people typically think, feel and act.
  • Taking part in a simulated computerized task before the brain stimulation session lasting about 15 minutes.
  • Undertaking three brain stimulation sessions lasting for 20 minutes each.
